What is infrared (radiant) energy?

Existence of each life form on the Earth-humans, animals and plants is impossible without sunlight and warmth. From the most ancient times humans use and enjoy pleasant infrared warmth of sunrays. The heat they create is cozy and nice. The way the Sun radiates warmth is one of the most useful and favorable for humans. The natural way of heating, existing in nature is Sun’s infrared radiation.
Infrared radiation first of all carries thermal energy. When infrared energy waves reach Earth’s surface, the infrared energy is transformed into warmth. At day time the surface of our planet and the matter on it are exposed to infrared radiation and thus collect heat. According Thermodynamics laws the heat passes always from subjects with higher temperature to subjects with lower temperature. Thus, when the Sun goes down, the accumulated thermal energy is released again in the environment. This infrared heat is the natural heat necessary for life existence on our planet. The infrared heat is most favorable and useful for humans and animals, as well as it is significant for plants growth.

The feeling for comfort of people and animals in the room depends on infrared energy quantity, which is generated by the heat source. Infrared electromagnetic waves immediately transfer the warmth to all solids in the envelopment zone. As it is in Sun infrared radiation nearly doesn’t exist energy loss. The optimal temperature in the room is in direct dependence of surface temperature of materials (floor, walls, walls, ceiling, subjects and furniture).

Infrared rays are with big wave length and don’t create electromagnetic pollution.

Infrared rays must not be mixed up with ultraviolet light or each other form of harmful radiation (alpha, beta, gamma-rays, Roentgen radiation, etc.). In actual fact infrared radiation is used for different commercial and consumer applications, for example:
